Standing Up for a Purpose

At 9:00 a.m. on May 25th, Schroeder students and teachers stood up in unison and demonstrated anti-bullying behaviors. This was part of a nationwide program to encourage positive citizenship and to fight bullying. Activities were tailored to each grade level, but all involved positive behavior toward others. Below left, first graders in Mrs. Chick's class are greeting each other, shaking hands and giving compliments. Below right, Miss Genovese's first graders are passing a "talking flower" as they too exchange compliments. This activity was just one of the many ways Schroeder works throughout the year to reinforce good citizenship and responsible behavior.
